It is a tertiary referral hospital with several hundred licensed beds, providing medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics, surgical, and critical care, along with a trauma program. Al Ain Hospital achieved Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation in 2010 and works as an academic medical centre alongside the United Arab Emirates University College of Medicine and Health Sciences.

NMC Specialty hospital in Al Ain is a 100-bedded multispeciality hospital that opened in 2007.

It serves the Al Ain Region and also towns from neighbouring Oman. In addition to the major specialties such as medicine, surgery, paediatrics, orthopaedics and obstetrics, the hospital also offers highly specialised services such as coronary artery bypass grafting, tempero mandibular joint arthroscopy and bariatric surgery.
