Job Summary:

An esteemed healthcare institution in Dubai is seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant Trauma Surgeon to join their trauma and emergency surgery team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in managing complex traumatic injuries and emergency surgical cases. This role demands an adept professional capable of delivering life-saving care, leading multidisciplinary teams, and setting benchmarks in trauma surgery excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and provide surgical intervention for patients with critical and life-threatening traumatic injuries.
  • Perform advanced trauma surgeries, including thoracic, abdominal, vascular, and orthopedic trauma procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate the trauma team during emergency situations, ensuring rapid, effective, and high-quality care.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and manage post-operative recovery for trauma patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including intensivists, anesthetists, radiologists, and rehabilitation specialists, to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Participate in trauma case reviews, quality assurance initiatives, and the development of clinical protocols to improve outcomes.
  • Mentor and supervise junior surgeons, residents, and medical staff, contributing to their professional development.
  • Stay current with advancements in trauma and emergency surgery, incorporating evidence-based practices into care delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and adhere to international standards of patient safety and surgical excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in General Surgery or Trauma Surgery.
  • Subspecialty training or fellowship in Trauma Surgery is preferred.
  • Completion of Western education or training (e.g., USA, UK, Canada, or equivalent) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Consultant Trauma Surgeon in a reputable healthcare facility.
  • Expertise in handling high-acuity trauma cases and performing complex emergency surgeries.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Eligibility for DHA licensing to practice in Dubai.
