Consultant Neonatology

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Neonatologist to join the Neonatology department of a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. This role is dedicated to providing expert medical care for critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and achieve optimal outcomes for these vulnerable patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and manage complex medical conditions in neonates requiring specialized care.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for critically ill newborns.
  • Oversee and manage the care of neonates in the NICU, including life-saving interventions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nursing staff, pediatricians, and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Communicate effectively with families, providing education and updates on their infant’s medical status and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical research in neonatology.
  • Stay updated on advancements in neonatal care and apply evidence-based practices.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialization in Neonatology.
  • Board certification in Neonatology is highly desirable.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Dubai, UAE.
  • Minimum of 6 years of clinical experience in a NICU or relevant pediatric setting.
  • Strong knowledge of neonatal care protocols and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with families and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Western-trained education or experience required.
